Nordstern begins its flagship research project in Bremen, Germany, focused on predictive maintenance in the automotive sector. In collaboration with Graha GmbH, Nordstern is developing advanced solutions to predict energy consumption in electric vehicles (EVs), aiming to optimize performance and extend vehicle lifespan. This innovative project places Nordstern at the forefront of intelligent mobility, combining data-driven insights with sustainable technology to shape the future of electric transportation.
Beyond Black-Box AI: Transparent, High-Accuracy Predictive Models with RAG for Feature Engineering

NordStern explores a novel use case - the viability of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) for intelligent feature engineering in industrial IoT sector. Our approach automated the generation of high-value features - traditionally a manual and time-consuming process - enabling the deployment of predictive models that achieved ~ 99% accuracy in multi-class hydraulic fault detection. These results are comparable to deep learning models, but with greater interpretability and faster adaptability. RAG’s architecture is inherently modular, allowing it to be customized to each business’s domain language, data structure, and operational needs, making it a powerful tool for accelerating industrial AI solutions.
